Spiritual Pilgrimage to Mt. Baldy Tomorrow!

notchbaldy[1]

!World Peace Pilgrimage to Mount Baldy – Saturday, July 24th!
Have you noticed the absolutely GORGEOUS weather we’ve been having? Are you interested–even the faux nihilists among us–in radiating good vibes to the rest of the world? Take off your party hats and put down your UFO hunting gear–if for one night, and join our friends at the Aetherius Society (Hollywood’s oldest UFO spirituality group) TOMORROW for the 2nd Annual World Peace Pilgrimage to the very esoteric Mt. Baldy.

“This is shaping up to be another really fantastic interfaith Pilgrimage with a Venerable Buddhist monk from Sri Lanka, an Imam from the Islamic faith and Bishop Turner from the Hope for Life Foundation together with other representatives from the Hindu, Sikh, Brahma Kumaris, Jewish, Christian, New Age and other faiths. Collectively, upon this local sacred site, we can become as one voice working and praying for World Peace.”

In these troubled times, why not band together in an effort to make the world a better place? I’m certainly no hippy, but I’m going to be there (Eris willing). Anyone want to carpool? Look at it as a spiritual sampler platter with the added benefit of good vibrations and fantastic company.

The group is meeting at 9am in the parking lot at the base of the mountain. From there, you have two options: to engage in a none too strenuous three hour hike to the summit–which I will be doing (as will an interesting bunch of folk) or to purchase a ski lift ticket @ $24. (Sorry, I couldn’t swing a LOWFI discount). You feel feel utterly fantastic after the hike, drinking in breath-taking views of the southland.
In 2009, over 200 people from many different faith traditions came together on beautiful Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains east of Los Angeles to send out a wave of love and light to the world from this sacred mountain.

In view of its tremendous success, pilgrims from across the southland will be gathering for a 2nd World Peace Pilgrimage to take place on Saturday, July 24th.

The event is sponsored by:
The Southern California Committee of the Parliament of the World’s Religions (SCCPWR)
The Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP)
The Culver City Area Interfaith Alliance (CCAIA)
The Unity and Diversity World Council (UDWC)
This unique event will draw together members of the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Brahma Kumari, Islamic, Jewish, Christian, Native American and New Age traditions, each offering prayers or chants for World Peace.
We hope very much that and your friends will be able to join us and help make this an even greater experience than last year.
