Louise Lacey’s 1980 Saucer Sighting in Berkeley

My good friend and fellow Discordian, Louise Lacey, has experienced a couple of NorCal saucer sightings over the years. The audio file below (from an interview I conducted with Louise a couple years back) documents one such incident that occurred in downtown Berkeley circa 1980.

Tahoe Tessies and Pyramid Lake Monsters, Oh My!

We here at LOWFI, over the last year or two, have received a number of sea serpent type reports — or more rightly, lake monsters, of the Californian variety — including reports of SoCal’s Pyramid Lake Monster, as well as a number of reports of NorCal’s Lake Tahoe Monster, also known as Tahoe Tessie, of which I relate below, courtesy of a correspondent named Barry:
“I was a witness to the “Tahoe Monster” back in 1992. While traveling on the East side of the lake in my pickup truck after returning from Carson City, I noticed a large black floating object in the water and I pulled off the road and parked. It was a very warm day in February and the sun was shining brightly. I walked to the edge of the road and watched this object float in towards the shore coming up almost to the surface. It was very long, I believe over 30 feet in length and maybe double that, I had nothing to scale it against. I was standing about 60-70 feet above the lake and I had a friend with me and we asked each other “what is it?” It was as described elsewhere, serpentine like, black or umber in color and very long. We watched it for a half hour as it floated near the surface and sunned itself and then suddenly just swam away to deeper water and out of sight. When we got back to Incline and told others about it all were skeptical, but I saw it, it is living and it is real.”
And then another report, from correspondent Robbie:
“I was traveling through nevada on 95 to reno and saw the lake and had never heard the stories. Then I saw what looked like a serpent — it looked like nothing else I have ever seen and I really didn’t believe in these sort of things. My dad and my friend John were there with me and also saw it. I really want to make a report but I don’t want everyone to think I am crazy. Please give me an email back for more info. I will also give you my number to talk about it. I am eager to know more. Hit me back, bye….”
So there you have it, boys and girls, something weird seems to indeed be going on in both the northern and southern reaches of the great state of California.
