Stealth Fighter Parked on N. Texas Country Road – Again?
Interesting… this recent report may be a repeat of a sighting from the beginning of this year, according to anonymous claims in the comments section at the website source.
Sometimes, it’s really worth the time to travel country roads instead of the freeway. You just never know what gems you may stumble upon while driving the scenic byways and highways of Texas. You may find a really great BBQ joint or a kitschy country store selling irresistible knickknacks — or maybe a state-of-the-art stealth fighter parked on the side of the road.
What?
Yep. That’s what we said when we saw the photos Craig Levisay sent to our 5 and 6 p.m. anchor Mike Snyder this morning. Levisay found what appears to be a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft, broken down along state Highway 1187 near Drury Lane in Rendon.
The $50 million F-35, which has stealth capability and the ability to take off and land vertically, was shrink-wrapped in blue and perched on the back of a flat-bed truck that was partially hidden behind a pile of asphalt.
But the clever cover didn’t keep Levisay, or any other number of passerbys, from snapping some photos of the military’s next generation aircraft, or even shielding themselves from the hot summer sun underneath one of the aircraft’s foldable wings.

From the comment’s section:
MY HUSBAND AND i SAW THIS SAME PLANE THERE ON JANUARY 20TH OF THIS YEAR. I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE IT. USUALLY ON TRANSPORTS LIKE THIS, THEY WILL SOMETIMES TRAVEL ON BACKROADS TO AVOID MAJOR HIGHWAY AND MOST OF THE TIME PREFER TO TRAVEL @ NIGHT AND REST DURING THE DAY. WHEN WE SAW IT IN THE SAME SPOT IN JANUARY, IT HAD A POLICE OFFICER GUARDING THE TRUCK AND PLANE. VERY NEAY SIGHT TO SEE, BUT IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME IT’S BEEN THERE.

UFOs on the Attack over Houston?
Remember that near-miss between a missile and an airplane over Houston last year? And the year before that?
My latest post over at ANOMALY Magazine…
Will There Be Another Near Miss With a UFO/Missile Over Houston?
John Etgen speaks with KHOU news on report of FAA rocket incident in Houston.
“There will be another such loud report!”
- Carl Gustav Jung to Sigmund Freud“Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.”
– Auric Goldfinger
The other day a friend was telling me about a new book by local author James Hynes titled NEXT. My friend described part of the book’s premise, that of the main character Kevin Quinn worrying about being shot-out-of-the-sky by a shoulder mounted rocket while coming in for a landing in Austin, Texas:
In the first paragraph of “Next,” he imagines terrorists “kneeling in the bed of a dinged-up pickup truck with Texas plates, or crouching on the springy backseat of a rented convertible on a dirt track just outside the airport fence.” He envisions a Stinger launching “toward the sleek underbelly of Kevin’s plane, a Pringles can with wings, packed full of defenseless Pringles.”
I joked with my friend that, since the character was flying into the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and not the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, he had nothing to worry about. I then proceeded to explain that there have been two very similar near-miss aviation events, almost exactly one year apart, where the unidentified flying object was described as like a missile or rocket, reported by commercial pilots and corroborated by witnesses on the ground. I suddenly realized we were now within the same time-frame as those two past events.
“It was the same situation, almost identical,” DeFoor said. “The FBI are pulling their records on that one. It was roughly in the same area almost a year ago.”
Both events involved “Continental Airlines,” though the second incident was actually with an ExpressJet plane that “flies regional routes for Continental Airlines as Continental Express.”
In the case of the 2008 event:
Continental Flight 1544 was flying at 5,000 feet about 11 miles east of Bush Intercontinental Airport after takeoff Monday morning when the pilot called the tower to report an object headed toward the plane. The pilot described seeing a fast moving object with a thick smoke trail nearing his airspace.
The 2009 incident also occurred shortly after take-off from Bush Intercontinental Airport, over the southern edge of Liberty County but with the plane at 13,000 feet on its way to Greenville, South Carolina. The 2008 event involved a commercial flight headed to Cleveland, Ohio.
While the first incident was at a relatively low altitude, compared to the second event a year later, the second closer-call was witnessed by two Hardin High School students who were interviewed by the local Sheriff’s department.

Interestingly enough … while I was writing the above article I saw this UFO news headline:
TX, May 4, 2010 – Sphere intercepts Southwest Jet over Downtown Houston. MUFON Case # 23244.
Had just picked up my wife from work at Produce Row.It was her,our son and I cutting thru Downtown Houston to hit the H.O.V. lane to I-45 North when I noticed a sphere cutting across the sky.
At that time,I told my wife and son to look at it and when they spotted it a Southwest Jet came in view.
The sphere picked up speed and was on a collision course with the jet.
As we drove by the Spaghetti Warehouse to take a right, our view was blocked. When we made our turn and got a look at the area where the jet and sphere were, the jet was gone!
I don’t know what happened to the jet,but in that span of about 3 seconds it was gone. But the sphere was just sitting there spinning. After we got on the H.O.V. lane we went under I-10 and as we come to the other side of I-10 it was gone.Just wondering if anyone else had seen it.

Stephenville one of the “Best places to spot UFOs”
MSNBC recently did a piece on the “Best places to spot UFOs” and perhaps not surprisingly they included Stephenville, Texas. As I previously mentioned, it does seem that there have been a series of Sightings-Flaps there recently.
It was just another winter night in Stephenville, Texas, when Steve Allen, a 30-year aviation veteran, saw something that defied all logic—an eerily silent, mile-wide craft ringed in lights that would “rearrange themselves” racing across the sky at what he estimated to be 3,000 miles per hour.
“I don’t know if it was a biblical experience or somebody from a different universe, but it was definitely not from around these parts,” Allen told a reporter from the Empire-Tribune after the sighting on Jan. 8, 2008. Similar reports poured in from across Erath County.
The Stephenville Lights incident wasn’t a onetime event—another mass sighting followed in October 2008, and individual reports from the area still trickle in. This corner of Texas along with the eastern Nevada desert are fast emerging as the U.S.’s newest UFO “hot spots”—places with the best odds of a spotting. Similarly active places exist around the globe, with some even attracting a new kind of tourist.

East Texas Big Cats on the Prowl

On the eve of British Cryptozoologist Jonathan Downes’ visit to Texas in search of the Texas Blue Dogs (aka Chupacabras) East Texas neighborhoods were abuzz over sightings and tracks of a what some think could possibly be a mountain lion on the loose.
BEN WHEELER, TX (KLTV) – An East Texas farmer says something is on the prowl on his land and he has a picture to prove it. Chuck Arena snapped a photo of a large, fresh paw print he found on a pile of clay.
“When I saw this claw print, it definitely wasn’t a hog, it wasn’t a dog, it was something big,” said Arena.
…
“When I first saw it the first thing I did was like, ‘Ok, that’s pretty fresh,’ and I started looking around,” he said.
…
“I think it is a mountain lion,” said Arena.
Just down the road, Christine Clements says she has come face to face with one several times.
…
Still unsure what this print is, we took it to Game Warden Chris Green. He says the pad shape looks more like a large dog.
“Not to say that he didn’t see a mountain lion, I’m just not sure that right there is a mountain lion track,” explained Green.
But, he says because of an abundant food source of deer and pigs, big cats are on the move in East Texas.
“I think we’re seeing more and more…We didn’t used to hear about so many sightings of these big cats, but we have just in the last five years,” said Green.
…
At least Arena doesn’t have a bigfoot on his hands.
“Bigfoot is up by Caddo Lake is where they’ve sighted those,” said Arena.
But these prints remain a little mysterious.
“I definitely feel there’s things out in these woods that we don’t know,” he said.
Game Warden Green says mountain lions, or cougars, have even been spotted near city limits. They are nocturnal, feeding at night or early morning hours. He says if you see one, don’t panic, simply back away slowly.

Anomaly Archives Meetup this Saturday
Join us at the First Anomaly Archives Meetup of 2010 this Saturday at the Austin History Center from 3-4pm.(See end of email for venue details)
Sponsoring this meetup and venue is the local Austin Mufon chapter headed by Anomaly Archives board member Mike DeGroff.
The monthly Austin Mufon meeting is 1-4pm the first Saturday of most months.
As this is our first official “MeetUp” we’ll be answering questions about the organization, its mission, projects and goals, etc.
We may watch a video or two, talk about books we’re reading, and generally talking about a wide variety of anomalous subjects.
We’ll also be giving away a couple of books to some lucky attendees. Kind of like a door prize. Details at the meeting.
Also, after the meeting, if there’s enough interest, perhaps we can retire to some comfortable outdoor eatery for “conversations over saucers” with coffee, tea, beer, etc.
Finally, we’re pleased to announce that the Anomaly Archives will be hosting British Fortean Cryptozoologist Jonathan Downes the afternoon of Saturday, March 20th. Details to follow shortly.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you all at the Austin History Center this Saturday.

Texas Ghost Show in Beaumont Texas

Discovery Channel’s GhostLab Investigator Brothers, Barry and Brad Klinge.
Fans of paranormal investigations and ghost hunting reality tv shows set your itineraries for Beaumont, Texas’ Civic Center. On March 13th the Texas Society of Paranormal Investigators (TSPI) is hosting the Texas Ghost Show which is set to feature authors, researchers and reality tv personalities including:
- Brad Klinge of “Ghost Lab”
- Brian Harnois of “Ghost Hunter” and Ghost Hunters International
- Cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard
- Father Andrew Calder from “Paranormal State”
- Ericka Boussarhane, the “Oprah of the Paranormal”
- Dash Beardsley, the “Ghost Man of Galveston”
- Author Dr. Rita Louise
- Emcees Brian and Anna Marie
Penny LeLeux of TheRecordLive.com did a brief but interesting Question & Answer session with Ghost Lab investigator Brad Klinge in which she asked some interesting questions like “What effect has reality TV had on your investigations” and “What’s the most unusual or startling piece of evidence you’ve recorded to date“:
Brad: Everything is startling in its own way. Obviously, the Gettysburg soldiers were the most vivid. We have caught photographs of solid human forms as if someone was in the room with you such as what we call “The French Guy” at the Institute of Texan Cultures in SA or “the bartender” at the Harlequin Theater in SA. We have clear, vaporous shadow forms of children moving in and out of a bedroom at the Myrtles. We caught a chair moving on video. We caught a shadow person on thermal that allowed us to study the temperature phenomenon associated with paranormal activity. Our library is quite extensive.
Details: Tickets are only $20. The doors open at 8 a.m. Presenters speak from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The Beaumont Civic Center is located at 701 Main St., Beaumont. A special room rate of $79 is available at the MCM Elegante’ with code TXSPI. For more information call Don Dennis at (409) 553-4456 or go to txparanormal.com

CFZ crew coming to Texas!
Jon Downes and his wife Corinna of the Centre for Fortean Zoology will be visiting Texas next month.
They will be joining Richie and Naomi West in an investigation of what CFZ terms “Texas Blue Dogs” – what the mainstream media and local folks often call Chupacabras.
RICHIE AND NAOMI WEST: CFZ EXPEDITION TO TEXAS
…
A woman in southeast Texas has discovered a small family of hairless canines (referred by the CFZ as the Texas Blue dog) living behind her back yard. She has been feeding them and wants the CFZ to film them.
Naomi and I will be going down to that location next week to install day/night video cameras to film these creatures in action.
When Jon and Corinna arrive, we will be going there to further investigate them. The word from the family who discovered these creatures is that they have very unusual habits not normally associated with canines. Jon and Corinna will be accompanied for part of their trip by a team from a London TV Company who are following the CFZ for 8 months for a feature documentary for BBC2 and will be including the blue dog research in their documentary. We are excited as this will be a big story in the Fortean world. This picture was taken of the creature by the woman in southeast Texas.
…
Jon is planning to make a few appearances at local MUFON groups.

Another “Dublin UFO” – Don’t Bet On It
Who’s Pranking Whom? Why Ireland and Why Triangular UFOs?
AUSTIN - It’s like déjà vu all over again … remember back in October 2008 when we broke the story of how someone in Ireland’s media had been convinced that a then recent UFO sighting flap (which featured an apparent triangle ufo with a red laser caught with cellphone video footage) was connected to this amazing footage of a triangle ufo with red laser darting about but which turned out to be reused footage of an award winning model from a UFO hoax contest? Well it appears that someone has yet again pulled the wool over the media’s eyes.

Horizon City talks of Chupacabras
Chicken deaths near Horizon City spark talk of Chupacabras
HORIZON CITY — The legend may be back, just as mysterious and dark, to stalk the unsuspecting.
Until last weekend, Cesar Garcia and brother-in-law Juan Miranda saw their life near Horizon City as secluded and peaceful.
They moved to the area from Chicago three years ago, but have suddenly been beset by strange and unexplained occurrences.
Their rabbits went into hiding, their cat spent the weekend on the roof of their house, their roosters didn’t crow, and their dogs didn’t bark.
And at least 30 of their chickens were killed by an unknown interloper.
The brothers are hesitant to say what they think spooked their animals or killed their chickens.
But when pressed, they said it: El Chupacabras.
