Pump Project is proud to present  The Tesla Project. Artists Cody Scrogum of Twin Villain and Cathy Savage are co-curating a Nikola Tesla extravaganza. Please join us for a day of geeky good fun and celebrate the genius of Tesla!

We’ll have Tesla-inspired artwork from 20+ local artists, including a videotape of poet Lyman Grant reading prose.

We’ll have several t-shirt designs to choose from. You’ll be able to pick out a shirt and a screen, and your t-shirt will screen-printed right there while you wait.

The band ArcAttack will be headlining our musical showcase.

We’ll be screening the film All About Tesla throughout the day.

A Tesla Roadster will be on view for a portion of the event.

A team from Bits, Bytes & Bots will have robots and computer activities for children.

This month we are launching an all new series of events:

SUMMER FLYING SAUCER CINEMA SERIES

This month we are launching an all new series of events. This new monthly event will be a FREE showing of lesser known “Flying Saucer Films” with a focus on those that have important points to be made regarding the nature of paranormal, UFO and other anomalous phenomena, as well as society’s cultural reactions to UFO related phenomena.

UFO related phenomena and the Modern Wave of Flying Saucer sightings in the United States have had a lasting effect upon American Popular Culture. For that reason we feel it fitting to host this new event series at the South Austin Popular Culture Center (frmly the South Austin Museum of Popular Culture).

The Anomaly Archives welcomes British Fortean researcher Jon Downes to Austin, Texas for a lecture on all things anomalous, Fortean, cryptozoological and UFOlogical. Please join us at the Anomaly Archives lending library (located at 12593 Research Blvd., Suite 302) from 1 to 5pm, Saturday, March 20th for an enlightening lecture from one of the world’s leading cryptozoological field investigators.

This lecture event is FREE, however, a $5 donation is respectfully requested for those wishing to help support the Anomaly Archives in its non-profit community education, outreach and research efforts.

Jonathan Downes is the Director of the British-based Center for Fortean Zoology, the world’s only full-time group dedicated to the investigation of unknown animals, including Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Ogopogo, and the Abominable Snowman.

In both 1998 and 2004, Jon traveled to the island of Puerto Rico in search of the deadly, blood-sucking creature known as the Chupacabras – a beast that has been linked with a large amount of UFO activity, including UFO crashes, on the island.

Jon will be speaking about his two expeditions, findings, theories and conclusions as to what the creature may be. Jon will also reveal the very latest news on his quest to find out the truth concerning the so-called Texas Chupacabras.

Are the beasts of Puerto Rico and Texas one and the same? Or, is something even stranger going on? Don’t miss this rare chance to see Jon Downes expose the truth of this strange and sensational mystery.

Jonathan Downes is the author and co-author of numerous books on the subjects of Fortean phenomena, especially cryptozoological critters such as Owlman, the Monster of the Mere and others. Besides his research, writing and activism, Jon Downes is also an accomplished film maker having worked on over 7 films. He also produces a regular online video series for the Centre for Fortean Zoology called On The Track (Of Unknown Animals).

Sponsoring this meetup and venue is the local Austin Mufon chapter headed by Anomaly Archives board member Mike DeGroff.

The monthly Austin Mufon meeting is 1-4pm the first Saturday of most months.

As this is our first official “MeetUp” we’ll be answering questions about the organization, its mission, projects and goals, etc.

We may watch a video or two, talk about books we’re reading, and generally talking about a wide variety of anomalous subjects.

We’ll also be giving away a couple of books to some lucky attendees. Kind of like a door prize. Details at the meeting.

Also, after the meeting, if there’s enough interest, perhaps we can retire to some comfortable outdoor eatery for “conversations over saucers” with coffee, tea, beer, etc.

Finally, we’re pleased to announce that the Anomaly Archives will be hosting British Fortean Cryptozoologist Jonathan Downes the afternoon of Saturday, March 20th. Details to follow shortly.

Penny LeLeux of TheRecordLive.com did a brief but interesting Question & Answer session with Ghost Lab investigator Brad Klinge in which she asked some interesting questions like “What effect has reality TV had on your investigations” and “What’s the most unusual or startling piece of evidence you’ve recorded to date“:

 Brad: Everything is startling in its own way.  Obviously, the Gettysburg soldiers were the most vivid.  We have caught photographs of solid human forms as if someone was in the room with you such as what we call “The French Guy” at the Institute of Texan Cultures in SA or “the bartender” at the Harlequin Theater in SA.  We have clear, vaporous shadow forms of children moving in and out of a bedroom at the Myrtles.  We caught a chair moving on video.  We caught a shadow person on thermal that allowed us to study the temperature phenomenon associated with paranormal activity.  Our library is quite extensive.

Dreams often function as mediators between the unconscious — where unfathomable mysteries seem to cook and coagulate — and consciousness. If we pay attention to the messages in dreams, we may give birth to unexpected and exciting ideas. Dreams can bring valuable insights as well. Sometimes, dreams seem to access the future, as in Abraham Lincoln’s dream of his death just before he was assassinated.We shall discuss both actual and legendary dreams that have given rise to significant changes, both personal and social. We shall also discuss verified dreams that have been precognitive or prophetic. How about you? Have you had any creative or precognitive dreams that you would like to discuss? Meredith Mitchell, PhD received his doctorate in 1967 and trained at the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles, receiving certification as a Jungian analyst in 1974. He served as president of the L.A.
