The Meaning of “Indrid Cold” (Part 3)

Below is the first half of a note I just wrote for my upcoming book, “The Mothman Speaks II.” It gives some indication of the weirdness that has gone on this year…

———————

In Feb. of 2011, a series of strange events began unfolding when I visited the Space Coast of Florida and a spa/resort off the southern coast. The cottage in which I was staying at the resort had once been owned by the founding family of a large manufacturing corporation that eventually diversified into, among other things, making key parts for commercial airplanes and the space shuttle. One of their 19th Century factories had been located in Ohio and, like a lot of older families that immigrated to the Midwest from Europe, they were originally of German descent. The family worked hard, treated its employees well and, as a result of its success, moved in rarified social circles. I was told that members of the Kennedy clan had visited the resort over the years. Ian Fleming, international spy, is said to have occasionally visited the spa, as have members of Britain’s royal family.

As I was unpacking my things, I noticed a book on the nightstand that had a Nazi insignia on it. It was called The Game of the Foxes: The Untold Story of German Espionage in the United States and Great Britain During World War II, written by Ladislas Farago.

When I opened it to a random page, as is my usual practice, I saw a synchronistic reference. It said that Nazi Germany’s greatest spy, Emil Koedel, had been arrested in October of 1943 in West Virginia, posing as a film projectionist (Gray Barker’s line of work). After attempting a computer search on Koedel, it seemed obvious that the search engines had been scrubbed. Why was there so little information on this greatest of all Nazi spies? And what was he doing in West Virginia? Koedel had been active primarily on Long Island and in NYC, where he spied on American defense plants, particularly Army Ordnance facilities. During the Mothman flap of the late 1960s, Pt. Pleasant’s TNT Area was an Army Ordnance plant.

After seeing the reference in the book, I immediately noted that Emil Koedel’s name was very similar to “Indrid Cold,” the “spaceman” who was likely the leader of the MIB. After doing a little math, I realized that Koedel’s 15-yr. sentence would have allowed him to be free again at the time of Mothman. I wondered if Koedel could actually be the mysterious Indrid Cold. If antigravity devices were being built in the area, as Gray Barker surmised, then Koedel’s involvement would have been natural, for such information would have been valuable on the intelligence market. (Note: I found out in April of 2011, via FBI files requested by Ted Torbich of The Stench of Truth show, that Koedel was far too old to have been Indrid Cold. But this doesn’t rule out Koedel’s involvement in the operation as a mentor or planner. The name “Indrid Cold” may still prove to have been inspired by Koedel.)

During my investigation of Koedel, I was reminded that “MIB,” the abbreviation for “Men in Black,” is very similar to “MI5,” Britain’s equivalent of our FBI. One senses that the use of this abbreviation may not be an accident. John Keel, the person responsible for popularizing the shortened “MIB” phrase, often used monikers and phrases that had double meanings. This was part of Keel’s genius… MI5 was known for spying on anything the Nazis did; this would have included any flying saucers… Koedel could have easily interfaced with MI5’s “XX” intelligence group, which was skilled at “turning” double agents from other countries. Incredibly, Keel’s 1968 article on the MIB in FATE magazine states that the license plate “XX” was sometimes seen on MIB vehicles. This raises the possibility that Indrid Cold himself drove an “XX” vehicle. According to Farago, the “XX” group included several famous British writers, such as Graham Greene and Ian Fleming. Famed occultist Aleister Crowley, whose followers seem to have been present in Pt. Pleasant during Mothman, was also reportedly in the group. Interestingly, a division of the OSS (our early CIA) was called “X-2.” The X-2 group apparently shared information with Britain’s XX group. According to Adam Krametbauer in “The OSS in Europe”:

The X-2 branch was created in part to share in important ULTRA intercepts with the British. The OSS was still denied many valuable intercepts, but they worked closely with British intelligence and made the most of their resources. The X-2 helped the British in counterintelligence operations abroad. With the help of ULTRA the British were able to catch every German spy working in Britain. The X-2 in many ways became the elite organization of the OSS. One group within the X-2 branch was the secret Insurance Intelligence Unit. “The unit mined standard insurance records for blueprints of bomb plants, timetables of tide changes, and thousands of other details about targets, from a brewery in Bangkok to a candy company in Bergedorf, Germany.” “They knew which factories to burn, which bridges to blow up, and which cargo ships could be sunk in good conscience” (Fritz).

If the X-2 group continued on after the war, as one might expect, the “XX” license plate could have referred to them as well…

A synchronistic precursor to this factoid occurred in the summer of 2010. While recording an interview in Ohio with Harriet Plumbrook, which was broadcast on The Grassy Knoll radio show, a strange pinpoint of light shone into Harriet’s car window, illuminating the “XX” I had drawn on a page of notes for the show.

The light was two-toned (pink and turquoise) and bisected the “XX” at approximately a 33-degree angle. On its face, the event seemed to represent the double-crossing of either the XX or X-2 group.

The “XX,” or Masonic “double-cross,” seems to be a way for the Masonic “compass and square” to be easily written on a typewriter or computer. The “XX” – another way to write “1111” – can be seen in the logos of the U.S. Space Command and the U.S. Strategic Command, groups in charge of “information warfare,” satellites, surveillance, and drones – the outgrowth of saucer research. JSOC, the military intelligence unit that supposedly killed Osama Bin Laden, has both the “X” and the “11” in its logo… Interestingly, it was the Army’s 111th Military Intelligence Group that reportedly carried out 24-hr. surveillance on Martin Luther King – whose assassination is one of Mothman’s most well known prophecies… Certain UFO “Disclosure” or “Exopolitics” groups have taken to using the “X” symbol. Some of these well-organized and funded groups openly state that their main interest, other than ET disclosure, is in “antigravity” research. However, by attributing the antigravity technology to “ETs,” such groups may be misinforming the public and, in the long run, keeping the subject under wraps.

That same weekend at the resort, I was contacted on Facebook by Red Line Studios, who had recently released the film Eyes of the Mothman. Someone at the studio with the Facebook name “Charles Mothman Cornstalk” wrote me about my tagline: “Your Mothman Liaison: Making Supernatural Conspiracy Theory Fun.” “Cornstalk” seemed to be questioning it. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the studio was supposedly being beseiged by the media because one of their cameramen, Justin Massler, had recently been jailed for stalking Ivanka Trump, the daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump.

A rambling video of Massler had been posted to YouTube, where Massler blamed Mothman for his stalking activities.

Even though Massler had just shot “the most in-depth” documentary ever on Mothman, he showed a lack of Mothy knowledge by insinuating that Mothman and Indrid Cold were the same entity. It seemed as if he had gotten his beliefs from the fictional Mothman Prophecies film. Massler made sure to plug his movie and to mention his friend, director Matt Pellowski. Unfortunately, someone who had spent the night in jail with Massler made a comment below the video, stating that Massler in no way acted like a stalker or mentally unbalanced person. After I finally viewed the video back in Seattle, I began to sense that it might be a publicity stunt. It seemed weird to me that the studio had been hassling me rather than answering calls from the media.

To further complicate matters, it synchronistically turned out that Ivana, Ivanka’s mother, was staying at the same resort as I. We actually attended a mixer together on Feb. 19th, 2011.

Did my mysterious contact at Red Line know this? Was someone connected to the studio spying on the Trumps? It doesn’t seem like Massler alone would have the resources to spy on everyone in the Trump orbit… Also on the 19th, I toured a house at the resort that was once the vacation hideaway of the “man behind the building of the Twin Towers,” William Zeckendorf. Zeckendorf was the NYC real estate developer who sold the Rockefellers the land on which the United Nations now sits. Oddly, all references to his association with the Twin Towers have been removed from Wikipedia…

Interestingly, Red Line Studios is located only a block from Ground Zero in NYC. Due to the synchronicities that were happening at the spa, I began to wonder why a production outfit ostensibly interested in Mothman, and so close to Ground Zero, had not wanted to look into the 9/11 prophecies that Mothman transmitted during the original flap in the 1960s. A few years ago, when I first contacted the director about his project, he had not seemed at all interested in exploring the psychic or precognitive aspects of the story, nor the more conspiratorial aspects. He seemed to think that those parts of the equation were laughable.

Also while on that trip, I stopped to check out the Space Ghost and see if I could find the mysterious Tommy Burnham, the Mothman contactee who first predicted 9/11. His last known whereabouts were in the Cocoa Beach area. Supposedly he did not work for NASA anymore, but had settled nearby and was doing landscaping work. I took a drive up the coast to perhaps find Tommy and see a couple of points of interest along the way. One of these was a Hindu ashram, where I hoped to hear more about the Garuda. After spending the day at the ashram, I wasn’t able to come up with much new information about the Garuda. They were certainly familiar with him, but he is not a focus of their study. They did say that he comes up occasionally in certain ancient teachings, and that his role is always as a facilitator or protector… One thing I noticed while touring the ashram was a Native Medicine Wheel in the woods. The Medicine Wheel is a stonework consisting of a perfect circle with a cross inside. This “zodiac” symbol has come up repeatedly in my investigation of Mothman. Its usage stretches from antiquity, where it was the sign of the sun god and/or messiah, up to its recent appearance as the first letter of the Lanulosian alphabet, first transmitted to contactee Woody Derenberger by Indrid Cold…
